Arriving at the Central Station (Napoli-Centrale): from Piazza
Garibaldi take the tram (line 1) or the R2 bus to Piazza Municipio,
located at few steps away from Beverello Harbour, the landing place of
the hydrofoils and jetfoils (passenger-only service) for the islands in
the Gulf of Naples. The taxi rank is outside the Central Station, near
the ticket offices; the fare is computed and displayed by the
taximeter; but the taxi can also offer a fixed price transfer (10
Euro), as fixed by the Town Council.
Foot passengers without vehicle may also reach Capri by car-ferry
(CAREMAR company) from Calata Porta di Massa Harbour, the new
landing-place located only few steps away from via Marina (main
entrance from Varco Pisacane or from Varco Immacolatella Vecchia). The
ANM tram stop (line 1) is very close to the entrance to the harbour.
A shuttle bus provides transit service from Piazzale Angioino (very
close to Piazza Municipio and Beverello Harbour) to Calata Porta di
Massa Harbour.
Arriving at Mergellina Station: the Mergellina harbour, in Piazza
Sannazzaro, is just 10 minutes on foot. During the summer period, the
SNAV hydrofoils serve the Isle of Capri from this harbour.
On the motorway, past the toll-collector's cabin of Naples (coming
from Rome), follow the signs indicating "Porto" and "Zona Portuale".
After about 20 minutes -driving along Via Marina- you will reach Piazza
Municipio and Beverello Harbour. Alternatively, driving along Via
Marina, you will reach Varco Pisacane or Varco Immacolatella Vecchia,
the two public entrances to “Calata Porta di Massa” Harbour, the only
harbour in Naples from which it is possible to bring your vehicle to
Capri by car-ferry (CAREMAR Company).
If you have ferry reservations, you may reach Calata Porta di Massa
Harbour more quickly: on the motorway (coming from Rome), past the
toll-collector's cabin of Naples, follow the signs indicating "Porto"
and “Varco Bausan”.
However, if you want to bring your car to Capri from March to October,
or from 20th December to 7th January, please, read the regulation in
force about the Prohibition.
We suggest that you do not bring your car onto the island, since the
roads suitable for vehicles are few and narrow. If you want to park
your car in Naples, you may choose one of the car-parks listed to the
left of this page.
The airport in Naples ‘Capodichino’ is just a few kilometres from the city. The ANM Company provides regular bus service (ALIBUS) from the airport to Piazza Municipio (Beverello Harbour). The taxi rank is just outside the terminal.
From the town of Sorrento you may reach the island by regular
jetfoils and ferries leaving from Marina Piccola. The ship companies
are the following: Caremar (fast ferries) and Consorzio Linee Marittime
Partenopee (ferries, catamarans and jetfoils).

Anacapri is a small village on the top of the island of Capri. To reach
it you can get a taxi
(half an hour ride - the cost is around 20,00 euro from the port and
15,00 euro from the town of Capri). Since it is not far you can also
take the funicular from Marina Grande
(where the boat leaves you) up to Capri and then from there you can
take a bus to Anacapri
(both the funicular and the bus cost 1 euro).
Capri town is all pedestrian so you will have to walk to your hotel
either from the last stop of the bus or from the taxi stand. Everything
is quite close in Anacapri.
If you have any luggage remember that all the hotels offer and charge
for a transport service from the
port. You could ask the hotel
representatives at the port and they will look after your luggage and
send it to your hotel.
