Physics laboratory

·        I’ve been working for eight months (March to November 2004) on a Cosmic Rays test station, based on an RPC (Resistive Plate Chamber) detectors telescope. I’ve measured Cosmic Ray flux variation due to day-night and barometric effect. In parallel I performed studies of characterization of RPC detectors as a function of environmental parameters.  I covered all aspects of this job: from hardware setup to driving and data acquisition software; from signal setup to the development of the final software package and its appropriate Graphical User Interface, up to Data Analysis performed in ROOT and Microsoft Excel. A consistent report has been written on this job together with two articles, one already published on the <<Proceedings of Worldwide Conference on Virtual Instrumentation>> (National Instruments 2005) and a second under preparation.

·        On January and February 2005, I'm giving help in the Course of “Laboratorio IV”, for faculty of physics in Naples, “Federico II” University, to new students that are going to perform a similar experience on Cosmic Rays.

·        On January and February 2005, I'm giving help in the Course of “Sistemi di Conversione ed Interfacciamento”, for SICSI (Scuola Interuniversitaria Campana di Specializzazione all'Insegnamento).

·        Since 28th June till 9th September 2005, as a Summer Student at CERN, I took part in the project of the Cosmic Ray Certification of Muon Chambers of ATLAS Barrel Detector, under the supervision of Stephanie Zimmermann. The project consisted of three parts: work on the Cosmic Ray Test Station in BB5, development of analysis software and, eventually, statistical treatment of the acquired data. I also created a poster presented at the Summer Student Poster Session, on 4th August 2005, concerning the work on the Station and the preliminary part of the data analysis, and a final report.

Previous experience in teaching

·        During scholar year 1999-2000, I gave lectures to CIDI Organization (Centro di Iniziativa Democratica degli Insegnanti), for preparing secondary school teachers to Physics Laboratory and to allow them in passing their examination for teaching this subject.

Experience in Organization and Management

·        In years from 1999 to 2002 I’ve been redaction chief for the internal newspaper <<LiberaMente>> of Lyceum "Jacopo Sannazaro" in Naples.

·        During scholar year 1999-2000, I’ve been help in the library management in the Lyceum "Jacopo Sannazaro" in Naples.

Personal interests and education

·        I've an experience as freelance translator English to Italian for some scientific web sites.

·        I’m the author of several lyric compositions in both Italian and Latin languages with which I won several National Awards in Poetry. I gave some seminars under invitation in workshops of creative writing.

·        I also received an artistic education in several fields: theatre, cinema, singing, artistic drawings on paper and glass, ceramic works. I received, for some time, a sportive education in artistic gymnastic, swimming, athletics; I've a licence for skin diver).

·        I like very much reading, swimming, walking, going to cinema and theatre, having journeys.
