I am Professor of Statistical Mechanics at the Dipartimento di Scienze Fisiche, Università "Federico II", Napoli (Italy), where I am a member of the Statistical Mechanics Group.
I was also a member of the Unità di Napoli of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica della Materia (INFM) until its untimely demise. I am an Associate Member of the Sezione di Napoli of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN).
I am a member of the Editorial Board of Physics of Life Reviews, of the IOP electronic journal JSTAT: Journal of Statistical Mechanics, and of EPJ E: Soft Matter and Biological Physics, a journal within the European Physical Journal group.
I am one of the moderators of the arXiv q-bio archive (Populations and Evolution).
