- 17 January 1991, physics degree with full
marks (110/110) and cum laude, University of Naples "Federico II",
Italy. Thesis' title: "Realisation of Thin Films of High Temperature
Oxide Superconductors".
- 3 November 1995, title of PhD in Physics. Thesis'
title: "Investigation on the growth of epitaxial thin films employed
in the growth of grain boundary junctions".
Grants and positions:
- Since October 1999 - INFM Researcher working
in the Unit of Napoli.
- January 1998 and 1999 wins compertition for
a 1 year position (assegno di ricerca) with INFM.
- 1 June 1997 - 1 September 1997, assignment
as INFM collaborator on the subject "Setting up a thin film and
multilayers deposition technology for the realisation of superconducting
three terminal devices".
- 1 November 1995 - 30 May 1997, post-doc position
in the framework of the European Human Capital Mobility (HCM) project
at the CEA\DRFMC\SPSMS\LCP-Grenoble (Low temperature physics laboratory
of the "Commissariat pour l'Energie Atomique", Grenoble, France).
- October 1995, assignment as INFM collaborator
on the subject "Realisation of YBCO thin films for RF applications".
- January 1992 wins the competition for a 3 years
PhD position in physics at the University "Federico II" of Napoli,
Italy.

Major research interests:
Growth of YBCO and other oxide thin films: deposition
by sputtering, laser ablation or thermal evaporation; investigation
of d.c. and r.f. superconducting properties; control of morphological,
structural and chemical properties, also by use of suitable substrates.
- Realization and characterisation of high temperature
superconducting devices (including Josephson junctions, SQUIDs,
and three terminal field effect devices). Special expertise in biepitaxial
grain boundary Josephson junctions.
- First principle analysis of the nucleation
and growth of oxide films from the vapour.
- Material science and surface science characterisation
techniques.
Some scientific highlights:
Co-author of over 40 publication on international
scientific journals. Referee for Phys. Rev. B, Phys. Rev. Lett. and
Eur. Phys. J. Developed an original succesful technique for the fabrication
of grain boundary Josephson junctions brevetto proprietà CNR:
