Sep 2000 - Jan 2008: Univerità degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy
Master Degree in Physics

  • - Thesis topic: “search for Active Galactic Nuclei(AGN) in multiband photometric survey”. The study aimed to identifying AGN using photometric (instead of spectroscopic) data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). In order to achieve this classificator Neural Networks were used; and, in particular, Multi Layer Perceptron (MLP) and Support Vector Machines (SVM), MLP were used in a Matlab implementation, SVM in the LIBSVM implementation with Linux (Ubuntu and Scientific Linux) and Windows (XP) OS. SVM were used also on the PON SCoPE GRID in a multi instances mode.
